Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a different assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks succeed nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were anticipating more assaults.
